Venice Picnic

The Venice Picnic began in the 1920s being held on the main trail through Venice and along the lakeshore of the Biollo farm.  It was then moved to a site on crown land just west of O. J. Biollo’s property as the site by the church was not yet properly developed.

The event continued to take place sporadically through the 1930s and 1940s. In 1946, it became an annual permanent fixture with homemade pasta and chicken cacciatore as the main feature.  In 1962, it started being held at its current location. The event was paused from 2020-2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Venice Picnic takes place every first Sunday of June and offers an array of activities for families.
